Co-workers of suspected 'bike path rapist' baffled by arrest
Cheektowaga man pleads not guilty to murder charge
      There is a state of shock and disbelief at the Luvata Buffalo Inc. (formerly American Brass) company on Military Road in Buffalo. Co-workers of 48-year-old Altemio Sanchez, of Cheektowaga, learned Monday that police believe the 23-year employee of the brass and copper company is, in fact, the so-called "bike path rapist.

Superintendent to present preliminary Williamsville budget at February meeting
      What "wish list" items the Williamsville Central School District can afford to buy for the 2007-08 school year will be recommended at the next School Board meeting. (See editorial on page four) Superintendent Howard Smith said he will have next year's preliminary budget ready for the Feb. 13 meeting.

Mite Minor 'AAA' hockey adopts one of its own
      Amherst Youth Hockey has always been a huge part of Mike Ruckdaschel's life. As the oldest of three brothers, Ruckdaschel played defense for the Amherst Knights from house through travel hockey then played four years at defense for Williamsville North where he was on back-to-back Section VI Western New York Varsity Hockey Federation championship teams.

The Rev. Gary Bagley, recently deceased pastor of St. Benedict Church, was school chaplain at Sacred Heart Academy, where he will be fondly remembered for years to come.
