North, Sweet Home earn several honors

Williamsville North and Sweet Home were the top two teams in Section VI Class ‘A’ this season, and their All-Western New York selections prove it.

North placed three on the First Team — goalie Nicole Lewis, midfielder Brianne Galli and forward Ainsley Stoll; two on the Second Team — Leslie Ahern and Kristin Stone and another as Honorable Mention, Lucy Papia.

Sweet Home had two First Team picks — midfielder Brianne Galli and goalie Leann Stiver, the only sophomore on the team - and two on the Second Team — Sara Heron and Lauren Korniczky.

Sweet Home beat North, 2-1, in penalty strokes to win its first section title since 2002. Amherst Central, sectional runner-up in Class ‘B’,
