Community News Thomas Melendy of Getzville, Ph.D., associate professor of microbiology and immunology at the University at Buffalo was elected fellow of the American Academy for the Advancement of Science, the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of the journal, “Science.” He was among 449 scientists selected by his peers this year for his “meritorious efforts to advance science or its applications.” Thomas A. Fenter of Williamsville was appointed to a three-year term on the YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s corporate board of directors. He is the senior vice president of human resources and administrative services for Blue Cross Shield of Western New York. Fenter serves on the human resources advisory board for the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, as chairman of the board of Small Resources Executives. |
