St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute Alumni Association recently named brothers Michael DiStasio ’07 and Matthew DiStasio ’09 of Williamsville as the recipients of the Annual Alumni Endowment Award for the 2006-2007 school-year. This tuition award is given to a son or grandson of a St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute alumnus. Michael and Matthew are the sons of Joseph DiStasio ’82 and wife, Nancy.
Michael is a senior where he is currently a member of Philosophy Club and Digital Arts Photography. He is currently taking advanced placement European and plays bass in his band, “City Creeps.”
Matthew is a sophomore and is a member of the swim team, Recycling Club and Philosophy Club. He studies guitar and is a band, “Victim of Sunday.”
The entire DiStasio family volunteer one Sunday a month at Harvest House and they are members of SS. Peter and Paul in Williamsville.
“I am very proud of my sons, and the fact that I will celebrate my 25th reunion when Michael is graduating in the spring will be a special moment. My father made the sacrifice to send my brothers and I here many years ago and I feel that it is definitely worth the challenge,” Joe DiStasio said. “St. Joe’s is a special place that encourages students to bring out their unique gifts — essentially allowing them to be individuals.”
