Roswell Park offers free nicotine patches

Are you ready to keep your New Year’s resolution of quitting smoking for good this time?

Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Stop Smoking Clinic may be just the help you need.

The clinic will guide you through the quitting process and give you a free, two-week supply of nicotine patches to help increase your chances of staying smoke-free.

The program includes three sessions held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Jan. 4, 11 and 18 in the Research Studies Center at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, located at the corner of Elm and Carlton streets in Buffalo.

Program participants will receive a stop-smoking booklet, information on withdrawal symptoms, weight control, a two-week supply of nicotine patches and tips on how to remain smoke free.

The clinic fee of $10 is covered by Independent Health, Univera Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York and Community Blue. Clinic registration is limited. To register, call 845-8046.
