What’s Going On Workshop to be held at Daemen College The Buffalo Nordic Ski Club will host a workshop from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 in the Wick Center, 4380 Main St. Buffalo Choral Arts Society to perform The Sweet Home High School Concert Chorale and chamber orchestra will perform with the Buffalo Choral Arts Society at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 at the school, located at 4301 Main St. Marcia Giambrone will conduct and John Mitton will be the accompanist at a “Sounds of the Season” concert. SOS recovery group meets Tuesdays The Amherst chapter of Secular Organizations for Sobriety meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Center for Inquiry, 1310 Sweet Home Road. Save Our Selves (SOS) is a nonprofit network of local groups dedicated to helping individuals achieve and maintain sobriety. With more than 20,000 members worldwide, it is an alternative recovery method for those alcoholics or drug addicts uncomfortable with the spiritual content of 12-step programs. Blue Christmas Service set at church The Eggertsville United Church of Christ will hold its Blue Christmas Service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21 at 3400 Sheridan Drive. Museum to hold winter fundraiser The Amherst Museum is accepting new hats, gloves, scarves and mittens to decorate the Mitten Tree through Dec. 31 at the museum, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road in Amherst. In return, donators will receive a complementary admission to visit the museum. All contributions will be donated to the children at Buffalo School #45, and books will also be collected for the library.
