White Sabres sweep in Burlington

The Squirt White Sabres continued their winning ways by winning both games during the Friendship Tournament held in Burlington, Canada from Dec. 2 to 3.

The first game was against a well-disciplined Tamarack Lumber team but they were no match for the determined White Sabres.

Once again, Alex Jackson was outstanding in net, allowing just one goal in a 6-1 victory. The White Sabre goal scorers included Ethan Evenson, who had a goal and an assist, James Bassett, who continued his scoring

streak with two goals, Dan Dirrigl, with two goals, and Jon Utech. Dirrigl came close several times to completing a hat trick.

There were many other offensive heroes for the White Sabres who chipped in with assists, including Dan Corosi, Jacob DiStasio, Justin LaMonto, and Jim Roberto. Jamey Irish-Ryan, Alley Lillis, George Korn, and Joe Phillips played great both offensively and defensively.

In the second game, the White Sabres defeated the Adapt Hawks, 6-2. Basset led the team with his second hat trick of the season.

Also scoring were Utech, Roberto, and Irish-Ryan, who registered his first of the season. Once again, Jackson was stellar in goal and was aided by some great defensive plays from Roberto, Phillips, Dirrigl and Evenson. Phillips and DiStasio each registered two assists while Korn, LaMonto and Carosi chipped in with one assist. The Sabres were especially effective playing short-handed as Utech and Basset each scored while they were a man down.
