North looking to improve It’s not about wins and losses for Williamsville North girls bowling coach Kevin Poplawski. “We have a young team with a lot of new bowlers,” said Poplawski. “My main concern is that every one of the girls improves during the year and enjoys themselves bowling.” Sophomore Jackie Vetrano (147 average last year), juniors Sarah Zimmer (163) and Heather Lewandowski (135) and newcoming sophomore Maureen O’Brien make up the “A” team. Seniors Margaret Brass (130) and Ashley Forbes (133), freshman Allison Pieri make up three of the four “B” slots. The final “B” spot is up for grabs between seniors Courtney Peterson and Lindsey Rothschild, junior Allison Lyttle and freshmen Jessica Bialkowski and Lauren Fleming. All are new to the team. Poplawski said his team is deeper than in years past but still need to work on getting their averages higher.
North finished 1-11 last year. |
