Senior center launches prescription assistance program

The Amherst Center for Senior Services launched its new Prescription Assistance Program, which will help Amherst citizens with the cost of medication.

Volunteers will be available to meet with seniors in a confidential setting, to determine eligibility.

The program is designed for people 55 to 64 who are ineligible for private or governmental assistance. Seniors enrolled in the Medicare D program who have reached the “donut hole” may be eligible for assistance.
