Gordon P. Krebs, 74, a safety engineer and long-time resident of Williamsville, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, in Millard Fillmore Hospital.
Born in Buffalo, he attended Williamsville Central High School and Oklahoma State University. While in high school, he participated in football, cooking and sewing clubs and majored in science. Before entering college, he was a member of the U. S. Navy. He later was appointed to a public safety commission for the Village of Williamsville and then served 26 years as safety engineer at Veteran's Hospital.
In his youth, he helped out at his family's businesses in Williamsville, Amherst Recreation Alley's and the Century House.
Mr. Krebs enjoyed traveling with his family. His other hobbies included visiting local bookstores and antique shops and attending local high school football games.
Mr. Krebs was married 42 years to the late Dona B. Krebs, who died in 2004.
Mr. Krebs is survived by two sons, Martin of Tonawanda and Jason of Cary, N.C.; a brother, Francis of Getzville; two sisters, Helen of Tonawanda and Pat of Mulberry, Fla. and two grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Mary and Ralph Wilson, Jr. Hospice Inpatient Unit 225 Como Park Blvd. Cheektowaga, NY 14227-1480 or the V Foundation, 100 Towerview Court, Cary, N.C. 27513.
