Gift Drive for WNY Seniors underway

Gifts for the Greatest Generation kicked off the third annual gift drive aimed at Western New York seniors. Unwrapped gifts will be donated to elderly shut-ins.

The mission of Gifts for the Greatest Generation since its inception in 2003 has been to "bring the joy of the holiday season to WNY shut-ins."

During the past two GGG campaigns, more than 3,000 gifts were distributed by Meals on Wheels organizations and volunteers.

Gifts for the Greatest Generation invites residents and businesses to share in the holiday spirit by donating new, unwrapped gifts through Dec. 19. Gifts may be dropped off at designated GGG drop centers that include the Amberleigh Retirement Community, 2330 Maple Road in Williamsville Sunday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.; and the Eastern Hills Mall on 4545 Transit Road in front of Macy's.
