Citigroup to add 175 jobs at new facility

Approximately 175 new jobs will be created by the end of 2006 through Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking which moved into its new office building on Nov. 27 at CrossPoint Business Park in Amherst. By the end of this year, Citigroup will have more than 650 employees.

"It's fitting that our expanded operations coincide with our 30th anniversary here in the Buffalo area," said Roger Barnes, group manager, global transaction services operations and the head of Citigroup's site in Buffalo. "This move gives us the ability to accommodate our growing workforce and the flexibility for future growth potential in a region that has a well-educated, hardworking and motivated workforce, coupled with an excellent quality of life and business environment."

The new building has capacity for up to 805 employees with 109,000 square feet of office space. Citigroup partnered with Uniland Development Company to construct the new building.

Of the 175 new positions, most will consist of operations and finance functions for the Corporate and Investment Banking division of the organization.
