Gingerbread house decorating party set The annual gingerbread house decorating party will be held at 9:30 and 11 a.m., 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at Dessert deli, 716 Maple Road. Each time slot allows for 20 people. The event will have refreshments, music and designing a homemade house. The gingerbread house, icing and candy are provided. Museum to hold winter fundraiser The Amherst Museum is accepting new hats, gloves, scarves and mittens to decorate the Mitten Tree from Dec. 1 to 31 at the museum, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road in Amherst. In return, donators will receive a complementary admission to visit the museum. All contributions will be donated to the children at Buffalo School #45. The museum will also collect books for the library at the school for children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.
