Squirt Flyers score second win of season

The Squirt Flyers were on fire Sunday morning at the Pepsi Center with a high scoring 8-2 win over the Bruins.

The Flyers' Mark Christy lit up the scoreboard first for his team with a hard shot to the net. Trevor Shaw and Nicholas Schiappa assisted.

Eric Bailey scored the second goal with a fast breakaway down the center.

Gregory Sibick's tight wrist shot in the second period scored the Flyers' third goal. He was assisted by Austin Ballard.

With a minute to the go in the second period, Christy took advantage of assists from Shaw and Schiappa to score the Flyers' fourth goal.

The third period was the most intense for both teams with the Flyers' constant pressure on Bruins' goalie Jeremy Schwab. Schwab stood up to the pressure and made numerous outstanding saves.

Bailey scored the Flyers' fifth goal and second of the day, followed by back-to-back goals from Nicholas Schiappa. Amir Gulati scored the final goal off a rebound.

Outstanding offensive plays for the Flyers were made by Dean Battaglia, Anthony Macchia, and Peter Masters. Conor Mulvey, Austin Gallagher and James Mueller also had an exemplary game.

Flyers' goalie Bryan Cowing, anticipated where the pucks were going to land.

The Bruins' Luke Rehbaum and Richard Bruno scored.

Squirt Flyers edge Sabres Black, 4-2

Fans were treated to an exciting match-up on Sunday, Nov. 19 between the Flyers and the Sabres Black. The Flyers sealed their second game of the season with a 4-2 win.

The first period provided a glimpse into a game of tight defense and focused goaltending by the Flyers' Bryan Cowing and the Black Sabres' Ryan Ruggiero. The Black Sabres went on to light up the scoreboard first with a breakaway goal from Jordan Scinta, assisted by Henry Frome.

The Flyers answered back in the second when Anthony Macchia's quick stickhandling and assistance from Gregory Sibick, put one in between the pipes.

The second period was filled with several rushes by both teams. The Black Sabres' Josh Wrest scored the second goal for his team with another assist by Frome.

In the third period, the Flyers came out flying in a game packed with end-to-end action. Mark Christy proved he came to win with his second goal. He was assisted by Austin Gallagher.

The action continued with the Flyers' Trevor Shaw racking up two more goals thanks to his great sense of timing and sleek wrist shots. Assists were made on the Flyers' third and fourth goals by Christy and Austin Ballard.

Additional standouts for the Flyers were Amir Gulati, Eric Bailey, James Mueller, Conor Mulvey, and JP Williams.
