Bisons Pee Wee Major 'A' rolls The North Buffalo Bisons Pee Wee Major "A" were on fire as they swept to three straight victories over Webster, Olean, and North Tonawanda. Rochester scored their only goal in the last two minutes, spoiling goalie Amherst's Andrew Werynski's shutout in a 4-1 win. Supplying the power were John Lenahan, Kyle Moslow, and Dean Arthur (Amherst), who had a pair of goals. Adding assists were Moslow, John Hettrick, and Andrew Rampado. The Bisons travelled to Olean for an early morning game on Saturday and left with a well-earned 4-2 victory. Arthur again had a pair of goals, and JC Grabenstatter (Amherst) and Austin Kneer (Amherst) tallied the others. Assists went to Jordan Rusek (Amherst), Marc Bezbatchenko (Amherst), Rickey Wiorkowski, and Moslow. Werynski faced 25 shots between the pipes. Later that evening, the Bisons faced North Tonawanda and showed no signs of fatigue, scoring early on a nice passing play from Alex Laversa to Moslow to Rusek in the first. Two second period goals by Moslow (Amherst's Sean Basil) and Arthur Wiorkowski) put the Bisons ahead 3-1. The Lightning closed to 3-2 in the third but Wiorkowski (Grabenstatter) scored his first of the season to make it 4-2. Moslow notched an empty net goal for the final tally. Jimmy Basil (Amherst) and Werynski combined to stop 22 of 24 shots while the Bisons had 28 of their own. Oscar Ostendorf, Joshua Little (Amherst), Max Capizzi, and Mason Evans all made outstanding plays to preserve the win. The Bisons took on Brockport at Tacoma on Saturday, Nov. 25 but results were unavailable. |
