Micron Sabres Red defeat Sabres Black

The Amherst Micron League had another captivating game on Nov. 19 between two fierce opposing teams, Sabres Red and Sabres Black.

The Sabres Micron Red ended up on top 5-2 with both teams improving significantly since their first game of the year.

The scoring started with the Sabres Red as Adam Pohrte pushed one past the Sabre Black goalie with an assist by Rian Bisson.

Mathew Barbolini continued the scoring for the Sabres Red with a hard shot to increase the lead to 2-0. The Sabres Black countered with a difficult goal from Jon Kubiak to cut the lead to 2-1. However, Griffin Green followed up to put the Sabres Red ahead 3-1.

Roman Jewula increased the Sabre Red's lead by three with an inspiring goal to end the half 4-1.

In the second half, the Sabres Red continued its scoring with the next goal coming from Barbolini, his second, to increase the lead to 5-1.

The Sabres Black tried to mount a comeback, with Skyler Derose scoring to cut the lead to 5-2, but this is how the game finished.

The Sabres Red finished up with 10 shots on goal while the Sabres Black finished up with six.

Both goalies were outstanding in net.
