Amherst Fire Council to hold annual toy drive on Dec. 9

The Amherst Fire Council is hosting its annual toy drive.

The event started in 2003, and the local fire and exempt fire departments have teamed up to help less fortunate children have a happy holiday.

The collection date is from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Swormville Fire Company, 6971 Transit Road.

In the meantime, people are asked to drop off new unwrapped toys to any of the following fire halls:

East Amherst Fire Department, located at 9100 Transit Road in East Amherst.

Eggertsville Hose Company, located at 1880 Eggert Road in Amherst.

Ellicott Creek Fire Department, located at 45 S. Ellicott Creek Road in Amherst.

Getzville Fire Department, located at 630 Dodge Road in Getzville.

Hutchinson Hose Company, located at 5565 Main St. in Williamsville

Main Transit Fire Department, located at 6777 Main St. in Amherst.

North Bailey Fire Company, located at 966 Sweet Home Road. Snyder Fire Company, located at 4531 Main St. in Snyder.

Swormville Fire Company in East Amherst

Also collecting items for the drive are: East Amherst Exempt Firemen's Association, Exempt Firemen's Association of Getzville, Exempt Firemen's Association of Snyder, Main Transit Volunteer Fire Company Exempt Association, North Amherst Volunteer Exempt Firemen's Association, North Bailey's Exempt Firemen's Association, North Bailey Exempt Firemen's Association and Williamsville Exempt Firemen's Association.
