Developers look to expand
Village Board accepts tote bid
by JILL SCHMELZER Reporter

In the past two Village of Williamsville Board meetings, two expansion projects have been discussed among the mayor and trustees.

At the Nov. 13 meeting, Paul Iskalo of Iskalo Development proposed rezoning the property at 56 S. Union Road from residential to the most restrictive commercial zoning.

Iskalo is looking to purchase the buildings at 52 and 56 S. Union Road, currently Stereo Advantage, for office space and parking.

A public hearing for the rezoning of the property will be held at 7:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 in Village Hall, 5565 Main St. in Williamsville.

During the work session Monday, Nov. 27, Mayor Mary Lowther opened discussion about the property at 5680 Main St. in Williamsville. The owner is looking to expand the building to three floors for more office space.

Trustee Basil Piazza said he was in favor of expanding buildings up instead of out, meaning he would like to see higher buildings and not wider ones in the future Village of Williamsville. The mayor agreed and said the property could hold another floor and still be within the 30-foot-high building code requirement.

In other news: the Village Board authorized the purchase of totes from Rherig Pacific Company. The trustees are looking into purchasing 95-gallon totes for village residents.

The bid price may change due to a potential decrease in the resin index; once it's established the board will move forward and order the totes.

The next board meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 in Village Hall, 5565 Main St. in Williamsville.
