MusicalFare Theatre presents 'Black Nativity'

MusicalFare Theatre will present Paul Robeson Theatre's production of "Black Nativity."

The song-play, is a colloquial re-telling of the birth of Christ based on the Gospel of St. Luke. It is set to a soul-stirring testament to the power of gospel song, which delivers a message of joy, hope, victory and liberation.

"I had the opportunity to attend last year's production of Black Nativity at the Paul Robeson Theatre," MusicalFare Artistic and Executive Director, Randall Kramer said. "I know audiences will enjoy this holiday production and its uplifting music and dance."

He noted "Black Nativity" is supported through a grant from the John R. Oishei Foundation. Part of the grant will go towards microphones for the play, which will become property of the Paul Robeson Theatre at the conclusion of production.

Performances will be featured at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15; at 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 at at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at MusicalFare, located at 4380 Main St. in Amherst. All tickets are $25 and student discounts are available. For information or tickets, call 839-8540.
