Airborne launches teacher trust fund in schools

With more school districts struggling to keep programs in arts and music alive, Airborne, an herbal product to treat cough and cold, will provide relief to school districts throughout the country.

Teachers in the following districts are now eligible to apply for the Airborne Teacher Trust Fund, a nonprofit charitable corporation, that will help fund art and music programs in elementary and middle schools that are in jeopardy due to budget cuts: • Sweet Home School District Jewish Heritage Day School

 Williamsville School District

Summit Education Center - Language Development Program St. Mary's School Center for Handicapped Children Gateway-Longview Lynde School St. Gregory the Great School SS. Peter and Paul School

The Airborne Teacher Trust Fund was started by Victoria Knight-McDowell, a former second-grade teacher and creator of Ariborne Health Formula. Victoria's goal with the initiative is to help other teachers get their dreams and ambitions off the ground.

"With budgets becoming tighter each year, schools are faced with the difficult decision of having to cut vital programs," Knight-McDowell said. "The Airborne Teacher Trust Fund is meant to fill the gap and keep our youth engaged and inspired so they can live full and rewarding lives."

Donahue said that the Airborne Teacher Trust Fund is beginning with an investment of $250,000. Grants ranging from $200 to $10,000 will be awarded to teachers to implement programs during the 2006-07 school year.
