Greer second in MMA record books

John Greer, of Eggertsville, is just one of the many reasons the St. Joe's football team won the Monsignor Martin Association League AA title the past two years, but he's standing out now that his high school career is over.

Greer finished his tenure with the Marauders with 115 career receptions and 1,704 yards. That ranks him second in league history in both categories behind St. Francis's Kyle Smith, who had 124 receptions and 1,764 yards.

A four-year player, Greer was a two-way starter at receiver and strong safety.

Greer has changed gears already and is preparing for the basketball season. He was the Marauders' leading scorer last year.
