Williamsville family recognized for fund-raising efforts

The Barnabite Founders of Western New York honored the Marrano family with the Family of the Year Award during the Barnabite Founders 46th annual Ball held on Nov. 4 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.

The ball was hosted by Frank and Jenni Deni, permanent chair persons, Dr. Andrew P. and Laura Giacobbe, chair persons, and Jonathan D. Weir, co-chairman.

Each year, the Barnabite Founders recognize a family that most embodies the teachings of St. Anthony Zaccaria, the Founder of the Order of the Barnabite Fathers, through outstanding community service.

The Marrano family of Williamsville were selected for their philanthropic support of numerous charities and organizations throughout the area. Most recently, Patrick and Arlinda Marrano led the Raising the Roof campaign which raised more than $160,000 for groundbreaking cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

The couple also chaired the 2003 real estate Industry Campaign, which raised more than $130,000 for cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park.

Additionally, Patrick currently serves in a leadership role as a trustee for the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation Board, and serves on the foundation's development committee. He is president of Marrano/Marc Equity Corporation, Western New York's leading new home builder based on sales and dollar volume.
