Miss Battaglia is a 1995 graduate of Orchard Park High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Geneseo State College in 1999. She is the customer development center and customer service manager at City Chevrolet in Charlotte, N.C.

Her fiance is a 1998 graduate of Garinger High School. He is an Internet sales representative at City Chevrolet.

A December 2006 wedding is planned in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
