Boogie night
 | | The World's Largest Disco comes to the Buffalo Convention Center on Saturday night. |
|
Put on that leisure suit or bell bottoms and hustle down to The World's Largest Disco from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.
The '70s retro party features attendees wearing polyester shirts, platform shoes, halter tops and Jovan Musk, which are strongly encouraged but not mandatory.
This year's special celebrity guest is Danny Bonaduce from TV's "The Partridge Family."
Other highlights include more than 100 posters and photos of favorite '70s celebrities; a concert-size light and sound system along with the largest dance floor in New York State, featuring 500,000 watts of sound and lighting; five television screens featuring various TV shows and movies from the 1970s, along with Buffalo Bills, Sabres and Braves highlights; and have your picture taken with a local celebrity guest.
The World's Largest Disco continues to be the biggest entertainment ever held during the Thanksgiving holiday. It also accounts for the single largest donation to Camp Good Days and Special Times, a camp for children with cancer. This year marks a special milestone for Camp Good Days and Special Times as it will exceed the $1,000,000 mark in donations to WNY cancer-related charities.
Although it is generally considered a regional event, the Disco has been featured on "Good Morning America," VH-1's "Where Are They Now," the Travel Channel's "Secrets," "CBS This Morning," in the Washington Post, and the front page of The Wall Street Journal. It was also voted "The Greatest Event on Earth" by Festivals.com, and is listed as one of the top 50 events in the United States in the book "America Bizzaro."
This year's event is sold out. For more information, visit www.worldslargestdisco.com.
