Cretella shuts down Yellow Sabres

In a dazzling display of defense, Micron Black Sabres goalie Eric Cretella shut down the Yellow Sabre offense, not allowing a goal until late into the second period. Determined to keep the net puck free, Cretella scrambled, butterflied and even used his head to block shots, only giving up three late-game goals.

The Black Sabres' offensive charge was anchored by Tyler Rossi, with two goals and Derek Andrews who peppered the net before breaking through.

Other Black Sabre goals and great plays came from Jon Kubiak, Jack and Nick Smith, Kevin Halpern, Ethan Barnes, Skyler Derose and Eric Metz.

The Yellow Sabres played a hard fought game as well, putting pressure on the Black goalie throughout the game.

The Black Sabres won 12-3.
