Student holds positions in American Legion departments

A.J. Jurek American Legion Post 1672 in Swormville recently recognized Rebecca Steiner, 16, of Tonawanda for her dedication to the post.

The granddaughter of the late Albert C. Steiner, a WWII veteran, Rebecca has attended numerous conferences and volunteers at post events.

She attends county meetings and district conferences throughout the year.

She also conducts junior meetings at the American Legion Auxiliary's mid-winter conference and department convention. Rebecca is serving for a second year as honorary junior department president and in the honorary national junior eastern division vice president.

Next year at the American Legion Auxiliary National Convention in Reno, Rebecca will be running for honorary national junior president. She also plans to attend Empire Girls State, an American Legion Auxiliary sponsored organization for young women to be elected to positions.

She is a junior at Holy Angels Academy and is active in many school and church activities.
