Gottesman honored at national conference

Dean Gottesman spoke at the 2006 American Lighting Association Annual Conference in Las Vegas where he was recognized with the Pillar of Industry award.
Dean Gottesman was recently honored with a Pillar of Industry award at the 2006 American Lighting Association Annual Conference in Las Vegas. He was recognized for his extraordinary service in advancing the lighting industry as well as the association, its programs and mission during the past 12 to 18 months.

Gottesman is president of Royalite Lighting and Lighting for Less, a 78-year-old family owned and operated business in Amherst. He has been a longstanding member of the American Lighting Association, ALA, for more than 29 years, and has served on various committees and membership campaigns throughout those years; most notably, supporting the Education Foundation as board trustee and chairman.

A champion of the Educational Foundation, Gottesman works at each annual conference to increase donations to the foundation for scholarships and grants.

The ALA is an organization of lighting manufacturers, retail showrooms and sales representatives in the U.S. and Canada dedicated to expanding public knowledge about lighting.

Royalite and Lighting for Less are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and are located at 3355 Sheridan Drive.
