Lady Knights 12U shut out opponents

The Amherst Lady Knights 12U team just completed a wonderful week of hockey opening up their first ever SWGHL play.

The Lady Knights beat Chatham Ont., 3-0, behind Kelly Seward's two goals, Jocelyn Rizzo's single tally, and strong goaltending from Courtney Wesolowski for the shutout.

In an exhibition game, the Lady Knights beat the Buffalo Hornets 3-0, as Claire Hartman, Kate Miller, and Quinn Patrick scored, with Courtney Wesolowski stopping 15 shots for yet another shutout.

On Saturday, the Lady Knights held off a strong London Ontario team, gaining a 1-1 tie.

Miller scored on the power play off of a nice pass from Hartman and Seward.

The girls completed the week by travelling to Rochester and shutting the Edge out 2-0, with Karli Weidner netting her first of the season on a nice pass from Jocelyn Rizzo.

Courtney Wesolowski kept the Edge of the score sheet by stopping 21 shots to preserve the shutout.
