Pee Wee Bisons tie at Jamestown

The North Buffalo Bisons Pee Wee Major "A" travelled to Jamestown last Sunday morning and settled for a 3-3 tie.

Jamestown scored two in the opening stanza, the second on a 2-on-1 advantage to take the early lead over the slow starting Bisons. But the second was all North Buffalo as they scored all of its goals to go ahead 3-2.

Mark Bezbatchenko (Amherst) put in the rebound from Sean Basil's (Amherst) shot from the point to get things rolling. A Laker turnover in the neutral zone saw Mason Evans pass the puck to a streaking Kyle Moslow who put it past the helpless goaltender.

As the period wound down, JC Grabenstatter (Amherst) threaded a pass to Bezbatchenko, who lifted the puck over the sprawling Laker for the go-ahead goal.

The third period found the Bisons short-handed several times, as several careless penalties kept the Lakers on the power play often. Jamestown scored the equalizer midway through, and both teams had their chances but couldn't capitalize as time ran out.

Jim Basil faced 16 shots in net for Buffalo to 14 for the Laker netminder.

Next is a home game against Grand Niagara next Sunday.
