North field hockey advances Williamsville North lived up to its No. 1 seed ranking in Class A field hockey with a 8-0 shutout over West Seneca West on Monday. Ainsley Stoll scored her first career hat trick and Chantae Miller had two goals and two assists. Other goal scorers were Emily O'Gorman, Leslie Ahern and Julia Marcusa. Nicole Lewis recorded four saves in earning her tenth shutout of the season. "It was our first game in three weeks due to the storm, so I was very happy," said North coach Kristine Lapaglia. "Overall, the team had a solid effort. West Seneca came out very competitive to start the game and once my team found their passing game, they played very dominant." North will face Clarence at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Amherst in the Class A semifinals. North beat Clarence 2-0 in the regular season. |
