Thomas Reynolds Congress - 26th
R, C

Reynolds
As I write this, the federal government has issued a major disaster declaration. Having spent nearly every day meeting federal and state emergency officials, the National Guard, local officials and citizens ravaged by October's storm, I've seen firsthand the devastation across Western New York.

By the time you read this, remnants of the storm will remain; but for the most part, we will have resumed our daily routines.

I tell you this because what happened a few weeks ago shows how suddenly things can change, and how important it is we are always prepared for whatever challenge lies ahead.

An important part of my job is to make sure our community is prepared for those challenges: from providing vital funding for fire companies and homeland security to retirement security, by protecting Social Security and strengthening Medicare.

It also means strengthening our economy and creating an environment for growth and opportunity. I've worked to cut federal taxes, such as the marriage penalty and death tax and to increase the child tax credit.

This gives people more of their money to save, invest and spend as they see fit.

Since you first honored me with your vote, I've brought hundreds of millions of dollars in funding back to our community.

Today, these funds are keeping and creating jobs.

I pride myself on constituent casework and taking care of people's problems.

I've worked hard to maintain the trust you placed in me and have always believed that no problem is too big, no problem is too small.
