Jack Davis graduated from Amherst Central High School and received a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of Buffalo in 1955.
He is an avid tennis player, a gun collector and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He is married with six children and 13 grandchildren and lives in the Town of Clarence.
Davis spent three years in the Marine Corps Reserves and served as a deck officer in the Coast Guard.
In 1964, Davis founded the I Squared R Element Company, now located in the Village of Akron. It manufactures high temperature electric heating elements for industrial furnaces.
Davis started the company in his garage with $5,000 of his saving. The banks wouldn't loan him money because he was competing against giant multinationals.
Those multinationals no longer exist, and his company is the only company in the U.S. making these products.
The company employs 75 people at an average wage of $25 an hour. His business is not for sale, and he is not outsourcing jobs to foreign countries.
Davis wants to bring his experience in the private sector to Congress. He knows how to create jobs - he's been doing it for 40 years.
His goal is to end government policies that encourage corporations to move American jobs to foreign countries, pay slave wages and import goods back into this country.
These policies are destroying the American middle class.
Jack will represent the people of Western New York, not special interests and corporate lobbyists.
