Rotary Club of Amherst East welcomes new members The Rotary Club of Amherst East recently inducted its newest members, Emilie DiChristina and Iris Cooke. DiChristina previously served as president of the Mount Morris, New York Rotary Club and was a member of the Perry Rotary. She is the director of physician contracting at Erie County Medical Center Corporation. DiChristina was sponsored for membership into the club by Mary Ellen Ashe, executive director at Excelsior Orthopedics, and Cooke was sponsored for membership by Andrew Lankei, president of A.L. Designs, Inc. "The objectives of Rotary align well with ECMCC's commitment and tradition of giving back to our neighbors and the neighborhoods where we live and work," said DiChristina. Amherst East Rotary Club President Gerald DeSimone said, "Emilie and Iris are great new additions to our membership. We can use help from Emilie and Iris and our other new members to provide increased levels of service to the Amherst and Buffalo communities." The members of the Rotary Club of Amherst East provide support each year for international and local causes. On Friday, Nov. 3, the club is holding a wine tasting to raise money for the Williamsville East High School Scholarship Fund and other Rotary charitable projects. Tickets cost $30 and can be purchased at the front desk of Clearfield Liquor, 543 W. Klein Road. The Rotary Club of Amherst East meets at noon on Thursdays at Daffodils Restaurant on Maple Road, Amherst. For more information, visit the club's Web site at www.amhersteastrotary.org. |
