Fight erupts over branches

Friday, Oct. 13

+ Two arrests were made on Allenhurst Road of two men who were running from house to house. They were charged with disorderly conduct.

 Police responded to Tops Markets on Transit Road to assist a woman and her 9-year-old daughter who were in the vestibule and had been stranded for three hours.

 An alarm was set off on Niagara Falls Boulevard by employees who were working overnight because of power outages.

 A motorist called police for help after he became stranded on Youngs Road. AAA was reportedly not responding because of the driving ban.

 A Lamont Drive resident reported that two suspicious men were running to the rear of the house, possibly going for the generator. Police reported that teens were goofing around.

 A report of a man wearing all black stated that he was jumping into traffic on Main Street.

Saturday, Oct. 14

 A generator was taken from a home on Tiburon Lane.  A Travers Boulevard resident

called police because youths were ringing door bells and running away.

 Police conducted a welfare check at a home where a 75-year-old woman was living without power and was refusing to leave.

 On Jasper Drive a complainant said people were walking around a house with flashlights, looking into the windows, and a car was out front with the lights off. Police reported that it was a family shoveling the driveway.

 A North Forest Road resident called police about her intoxicated son who was staggering around the front yard. The man was transported to Erie County Medical Center.

Sunday, Oct. 15

 A man cleaning his basement on Burgundy Terrace reported hearing footsteps on the first floor and saw a tall man in the house. There was no problem. The tall man was a friend from across the street.

 A reckless operation call was placed from Sheridan Drive about motorbikes that were racing around.

 A Tomcyn Drive resident complained that individuals threw snowballs at his front window and left. No damage was reported, and no information was available about their direction of travel.

 Police were called about two males who were wearing dark clothing and throwing ice at houses on Sudbury Lane.

 A welfare check was requested on Little Robin Road for a mother of two children who had been drinking for two days.

 A complaint was made about a bonfire in the front yard of a Frankhauser Road residence.

Monday, Oct. 16

 A suspicious man wearing Army fatigues was reportedly walking in circles on Scamridge Curve. He was also standing on top of his pickup truck.

 Police were called about three or four youths who were shooting off fireworks on Brookdale Drive.

 A resident reported a group of youths were in a parking lot on Academy Street and were "up to no good." The youths were having a snowball fight.

 A woman on Mill Street needed assistance opening her manual garage door.

 On Hopkins Road, a resident reported that a yellow Labrador puppy walked into the house. Nothing had been reported to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals about a missing dog.

 A man was reported as disorderly at the shelter on Harlem Road. He was removed for disrupting others.

Tuesday, Oct. 17

 Police were called to Longmeadow Road where two men were walking down the street, one carrying a golf club.

 An elderly driver struck a road barricade on Sweet Home Road.

 A suspicious person with a vehicle was reported on Main Street when a man with a van was selling generators. The vehicle was suspected of being involved with previous larcenies of generators, but it was actually from New Jersey.

 A Maynard Drive resident reported larceny of a TV, computer and most of the electronics from the house.

 A 46-year-old man was taken in custody for larceny at a Main Street store.

Wednesday, Oct. 18

 Police were called by a Glenhaven Drive resident who reported that his ex-girlfriend took $100 and left.

 An argument on Dodge Road was reported because a woman wanted to go home after her power was restored but her family wanted family members to stay.

 A fight between youths using sticks was reported on Kenmore Avenue. They were friends who were goofing around.

 A son reportedly threatened his father, stating he would damage the apartment if the father didn't let him stay there for the night.

 A North Bailey Avenue resident complained that the neighbor put all her branches on the complainant's lawn.

Thursday, Oct. 19

 Police were called about a black poodle that was loose in the streets of Northington Drive.

 A Klein Road man reportedly flipped off a highway worker who told him to stop putting brush in the roadway. He was advised to keep his sign language to himself and to keep the brush out of the road.

 A man fell out of a tree on Glen Oak Drive while using a chain saw. He was transported by Swormville for a leg injury.

 A Traverly Drive resident reported larceny of a crystal clock and suspected rug cleaners who had been at the house that day.

 Neighbors were reportedly fighting over tree branches on Dodge Road.
