Long Day's Journey

Michael Providence and Diane Gaidry perform at ICTC.
Considered one of the most brilliant works in the history of the American theatre, Eugene O'Neill's "Long Day's Journey into Night" will be performed at the Irish Classical Theatre Co. from Oct. 27 through Nov. 26.

The play is a moving and unflinching portrayal of O'Neill's family. This "play of sorrows," filled with love and empathy for the haunted Tyrones, expresses universal longings as it transcends O'Neill's personal redemption. "Long Days Journey Into Night" reminds audiences that they can find meaning in their lives as they confront ghosts with love, understanding and forgiveness.

Directed by Fortunato Pezzimenti, the production features Christian Brandjes as Jamie, Paul Falzone as James Tyrone, Diane Gaidry as Mary Tyrone, S'ara Kovacsi as Cathleen, and Michael Providence as Edmund.

Opening night is at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, and performances continue Thursdays through Sundays through Nov. 26. Curtain time for evening performances are 7 p.m. There are no Saturday matinees, and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets range from $30 to $40, and $15 for students under 25 with valid ID one hour before curtain. Tickets are available by calling 853-4282.
