Predictions: Home field no advantage for Bills against Patriots Ralph Wilson Stadium probably never looked better to the Buffalo Bills as they returned home this week from two straight road losses. Sunday's 20-17 setback to the previously winless Detroit Lions and the Week Five trouncing by Chicago have the Bills reeling. Things don't get any easier for the boys in red, white and blue this week as they host the AFC East-leading New England Patriots Sunday. The Patriots stole away a victory from the Bills in Week One, 19-17. Buffalo held a 17-7 lead in the second half, but the offense couldn't get things going after halftime. A sack of Buffalo quarterback J.P. Losman in the end zone proved to be the winning score for New England. This team is supposed to be getting better, not worse. There's no excuse for what happened on Sunday against the Lions and this week probably won't be any better against the Patriots. The best we can hope for is a close loss to the Patriots. - New England 30, Buffalo 17. Ken Bartolotta, Lifestyles Reporter (4-2) The Bills may be playing at home this week, but if they can't beat a winless team, can they really be expected to have a chance against a team (New England) that has basically owned them since the turn of the century? I don't think so either. - New England 42, Buffalo 10. Jason Nadolinski, Sports Reporter (4-2) Losing to a possible Super Bowl contender in Chicago is fine. But losing to Detroit? At least the Bills are making their defeats more exciting than last year. With the Patriots coming to town, look for another Buffalo letdown. - New England 20, Buffalo 10. Patrick Nagy, Sports Reporter (4-2) The Bills' loss to the winless Lions was heartbreaking. Buffalo couldn't get its act together until the second half, and by that time, it was too late. Although they came back and almost beat Detroit, the Bills still came home with a loss. The Patriots will crush the Bills next weekend. Just another devastation for the Buffalo area. - Patriots 42, Bills 10. Jill Schmelzer, Lifestyles Coordinator (3-3) There was no excuse to lose to the Lions and now the Bills have the daunting task of beating the Patriots, who seem to be finding their stride. It helps that the game is in Buffalo, but things appear to be unraveling for J.P. Losman after a solid first month, so while I am not saying his future depends on this game, a third bad outing will not leave the organization confident. And Patriots head coach Bill Belichick knows how to get in the heads of young quarterbacks. - New England 24, Buffalo 10 Chris Gordon, Orchard Park Editor (3-3) Considering the Bills played the Patriots close in the first meeting and will have the home-field advantage this time, one might be tempted to give them the edge this week. But with the way Buffalo has played over the past two weeks, it won't be able to solve the riddle of Bill Belichick and the Patriots. - New England 24, Buffalo 17. Matt Krueger, Sports Reporter (2-4) The Bills are going to lose this game for several reasons. First off, for every step forward J.P Losman takes, he regresses five steps. Secondly, the defense wasn't all that impressive against the worst offensive in the league, this past weekend in Detroit. John Kitna is notorious for losing ball games due to mistakes. He handed the Bills' defense the game several times and they couldn't capitalize. Lastly, they are playing the Patriots. Good luck with that, thanks for coming out. - New England 32, Buffalo 9.
