Bulls' football to play home and home with Baylor The University at Buffalo has signed an agreement with Baylor University to play a home and home football series starting with a game in Buffalo next year. The Bulls and Bears will play at UB Stadium on September 22, 2007 in what will be UB's first ever home contest against a Big 12 team. Buffalo will return the game on September 11, 2010 at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas. "This is an exciting agreement for us," said Warde Manuel, UB's Director of Athletics. "It is significant for us to be hosting a Big 12 conference program, one with an outstanding athletic and academic history. In addition, it gives us an opportunity to continue to expand our recruiting boundaries by playing a team from a football-rich state like Texas." "We look forward to the opportunity of playing a team from the Big 12 Conference, a conference I'm extremely familiar with from my days at Nebraska," said UB coach Turner Gill. "Our players will be excited about playing that level of program here in Buffalo. For me, with the my roots in Texas, it will be a great opportunity, as well, to know we will play in my home state in the near future as well." The Bulls have only played one school from the Big 12 in their football history, Iowa State in 1968, a 28-10 loss. Buffalo previously announced a road game at Penn State the week prior to the Baylor game at UB Stadium. |
