2007 Tour de Cure fund-raising chairperson named

The American Diabetes Association of Western New York has appointed Paul McAfee as the 2007 Tour de Cure fund-raising chairperson.

McAfee is the chief executive officer of Buffalo-based eXubrio Group LLC, an advertising, marketing and public relations firm.

Tour de Cure is a series of cycling events held in more than 80 cities nationwide to benefit the American Diabetes Association. It is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist.

Since Tour de Cure's beginning in 1991, thousands of individual riders and teams have participated to support the association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Riders make a difference in the lives of the 20.8 million Americans suffering from diabetes by joining thousands of cyclists around the nation who are riding in Tour de Cure.

The 2007 Buffalo Tour de Cure will take place Saturday, June 2 at Niagara County Community College. This Tour de Cure serves the eight counties of Western New York. To register, visit www.dia betes.org/tour, or call Rebecca Young, associate manager for the Western New York Tour de Cure, at 835-0274, ext. 3705.

The Western New York office of the American Diabetes Association is located at 315 Alberta Drive, Suite 102, Amherst, N.Y. 14226.
