Hockey goalie causes road hazard

Friday, Sept. 29
+ A Maple Road restaurant reported that $83 worth of food was stolen.
Larceny was reported at a Transit Road business when an employee allegedly changed prices to receive the balance.
A muddy animal was reported in a trap on Kaymar Drive. The raccoon was relocated.
Saturday, Sept. 30
A desk clerk at a Maple Road hotel reported that four males were drinking beer in the parking lot, and she was concerned they were "getting a head start on the game tomorrow."
A possum was reported to be inside a store on Niagara Falls Boulevard.
Houses under construction on Downing Lane were burglarized. Several appliances and cabinets were missing.
Police met with a complainant on Millersport Highway who claimed that the day before, groceries were taken from her car while she was at a convenience store.
Loud college kids were urinating on bushes on Sundridge Drive.
Sunday, Oct. 1
A Wehrle Drive business reported that a man entered with a mask on, asked for the restroom and then for money, while displaying a handgun. He reportedly then said he was only kidding and left the business without any money.
Youths were reportedly lighting bottle rockets from a front porch on Palmdale Drive. All was quiet when police arrived.
A person reported that an older man was washing new children's clothing, with the tags still on, at a laundromat on Main Street. Police located the man, who was not washing children's clothing, nor was there anything unusual about the wash.
A North Ivyhurst Road resident complained when his "out of control" 16-year-old son punched the car and left on foot.
Monday, Oct. 2
A group of youths reportedly set fire to a couch that had been on a curb on Fairgreen Drive.
Two suspicious males were reported in a school on Willow Ridge Drive. They told the custodian they were lost and left on foot.
A group of five youths were reported at the baseball diamonds on Garnet Road for acting suspiciously and hiding a black Firebird car behind the trees.
Police were called to Little Robin Road about a man who didn't clean up after his dog. The complainant said it was a constant problem.
Tuesday, Oct. 3
A vehicle parked on American Campus Drive was keyed sometime during the night. The suspect keyed an explicit phrase.
Children throwing rocks broke the window of a bus on Hopkins Road.
A man wearing a denim hat and denim jacket was harassing customers at a Niagara Falls Boulevard store.
On West Klein Road, a 911 call was made, and then the caller hung up. Upon a call back, a man told the operator he was having a discussion with his wife and dialed 911 to make a point. Police verified that everything was in order.
Wednesday, Oct. 4
Two diamond rings were taken from a location on John James Audubon Parkway sometime in the past few days.
A motorist complained that a man in a full hockey goalie uniform, advertising with a sign for a bar, was creating a hazard on Crosspoint Parkway, particularly because it was raining and near dusk. The goalie and Sabretooth were advised not to go in the roadway.
Youths on Main Street were advised by police for jumping off picnic tables with their skateboards.
An Allenhurst Road resident reported that for several days someone had been dumping garbage into her containers, including bags of dog feces. She was advised to move her containers into her garage.
Thursday, Oct. 5
A Charlesgate Circle resident reported finding a handgun in a garbage can and was unsure if it was real. Police determined that it was a broken toy gun.
On East Summerset Lane, youths tore apart a resident's Halloween decorations and left them in the street.
Someone reported seeing an unknown person lying on the ground next to a bicycle on Sweet Home Road. There was no problem or injury, and the youth returned to riding his bike.
A flagman for a construction project on Sweet Home Road was struck by a white or silver Subaru wagon driven by a female who left the scene. The flagman was not injured.
