Franz J. Kiefer, Franz J. Kiefer, 46, of Williamsville, a 20-year steelworker, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, in Hospice Buffalo, Inc.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Kiefer was a life-long resident of Williamsville. He was a graduate of Depew High School and Niagara University University.

Mr. Kiefer worked 20 years for Gibraltar Steel.

He belonged to SS. Peter & Paul Church in Williamsville and was a member of Checkers Club for over 12 years, doing marathons and triatholons. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children.

Mr. Kiefer is survived by his wife, the former Joann Granville; two daughters, Odelia and Adelade; a son, Wyland; his mother, Beverly of Depew; a sister, Amy Benson of Elma; and a brother, Ernest J. of White River Junction, Vt.

Prayers were said Saturday, Oct. 7 from (Amherst Chapel) Amigone Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from SS. Peter & Paul Church.
