Couple receives papal blessing

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klee

Elaine and Henry Klee of Kenmore marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a blessing from Pope Benedict XVI. They celebrated with a family dinner at Salvatore's Italian Gardens in Depew.

Henry Klee married Elaine Gennuso on Sept. 1, 1956 at Holy Angels Church in Buffalo.

Henry is a retired administrator from the Buffalo Board of Education, and Elaine is a former employee of the federal government.

Since their retirement, Elaine and Henry enjoy being active within their parish community, spending time with family, and taking occasional casino trips.

There is a November ceremony planned to renew their vows at Saint Joseph Cathedral in Buffalo. Bishop Edward Kmiec will preside.

The couple has five children and nine grandchildren.
