Couple holds reception at Beaver Island Clubhouse

Kara Sylvis married Dan Swasey in an afternoon ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006 at North Presbyterian Church in Williamsville. The Rev. Carolyn Grohman officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Kalat and Jim Sylvis of Amherst. The groom is the son of Susan and Jim Swasey of Chadds Ford, Pa.

The bride was escorted by her father.

The maid of honor was Kate Sylvis, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids, all friends of the bride, were Christina Chandler, Jacquie Smith, Elizabeth McGarry, Allison Jahreis and Annie Kehrel.

The best man was Jim Swasey, brother of the groom, and the ushers, all friends of the groom, were Dave Anderson, Kris Graves, Nate Giersch, Brian Chandler and Mark Calio.

The ring bearer was Brian Chandler Jr., friend of the groom.

A reception was held at the Beaver Island Clubhouse in Grand Island.

The couple will make their home in Wilmington, Del.
