Openings at pre-k program

Amherst's prekindergarten program has openings in its two locations: Windermere Boulevard Elementary School, 291 Windermere Blvd., and the Amherst Community Church Child Care Center, 77 Washington Highway.

Transportation is provided to the school; it is not provided to the child care center.

The criteria for placement into the program is the child's parents or guardians must reside in the Amherst Central School District, and the child must be 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2006. Both proof of residency and the birth certificate are required.

Anyone who is interested in applying and can meet the above criteria, can call 362-4100 and request an application. As this is a state-funded program, there is no charge to the families participating.
