Autumn spice Things will heat up this weekend when the Spice of Autumn Festival is held from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, on The Village Green, corner of Delaware Avenue and Delaware Road. The event will feature a variety of food, refreshments and activities. Special events include a 5-Alarm Chili Cook Off, and a Kids Only Flea Market, where youth under age 18 are encouraged to bring items, including toys and games. To reserve your space, call the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Chamber of Commerce at 874-1202. There will also be live music by One Foot in Heaven. Jammies for GI's will be on hand collecting items for rehabilitating soldiers. Items of new clothing, sizes M/L/XL, sought include: underwear, socks, T-shirts; sweat or jogging pants or shirts; tear-away pants/shorts/shirts; pajamas/robes/slippers; flip-flops/sneakers (size 8 and up). Other items sought include: blankets, personal care items; paper, pens and envelopes; letters and cards; small TVs, candy or snacks; and more.
