Gene G. Simons, retired controller

Gene G. Simons, 75, a retired controller, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, in his Williamsville home.

Born in Greenville, Pa., he served in the Marines. After serving, he worked for Sears as an auditor and became controller for the East Coast. He retired in 1990.

Mr. Simons was a member of the Chapel at CrossPoint for 26 years and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Simons is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Helen E. Sweeney; a daughter, Linda J. Walker; two sons, Gary W. and Gregory W.; a sister, Sally Brown; a brother, Joseph J.; and four grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 in Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive, Amherst, followed by a funeral service at 10 in The Chapel at CrossPoint, 500 Cross-Point Parkway, Getzville.
