Marianne R. Reisdorf, 81, a 20-year resident of North Tonawanda, formerly of Arcade, N.Y., a charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Williamsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
Born Marianne Rast in Buffalo, she was a former bookkeeper of Agway, Inc. of Arcade for many years, retiring in 1987.
She was a founding and active member of the "Chubby Club" of Arcade. She also participated with her husband, Joe, a wood crafter with "Compositions in Wood," in many craft shows in the Western New York area from 1983 to 1996.
Mrs. Reisdorf was a volunteer for several years at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. She also was a communicant and choir member of both St. Patrick's RC Church in Java Center, NY and recently at St. Joseph's RC Church in North Tonawanda.
Her family said one of her greatest joys in life was to cook for her family and friends.
Mrs. Reisdorf is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph F. Reisdorf, Sr.; three sons, Joseph F. Jr. of Nevada City, Calif; Rodney R. Grand Island, and Bruce E. of Lincolndale, N.Y.; a sister, Roseanne Kern of Newfane; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Sept. 30 at St. Joseph's RC Church in North Tonawanda.
