Cut-a-Thon to benefit cancer awareness

Phoenix, a Salon, will celebrate its fourth year in business with a "Cut-a-Thon" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 to raise funds for breast cancer awareness.

The salon is located at 5655 Main St., Williamsville in Ed Young's Plaza.

The Cut-a-Thon will offer $10 trims, mini facials, and mini massages provided by various estheticians, stylists and a massage therapist.

It will also include a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia, gift certificates, skin and hair care products and more. Grilled Sahlen's hot dogs, pop and coffee will be available.

This is Phoenix, a Salon's second annual fund-raising event. All proceeds will be donated directly to breast cancer awareness.

Most of the salon's clients are women, so owner James P. Mulvenna believes the Cut-a-Thon will increase awareness throughout the female community.

"I feel fortunate for the success and growth of our business," said Mulvenna. "We couldn't think of a better way to express our gratitude than to focus the energy of our celebration on raising funds for breast cancer awareness."
