 Auditions for the Community Advent Choral's presentation of Handel's "Messiah" with soloists and chamber orchestra will take place in East Aurora. Auditions are on Oct. 10 at Baker Memorial Methodist Church, Main and Center streets; Oct. 18, Immanuel Lutheran, Pine and Fillmore; Oct. 24, Nativity Lutheran, 970 E. Main St.; Nov. 1, St. Matthias Episcopal, Main and Maple; Nov. 7, Immanuel Lutheran; Nov. 15, First Presbyterian, Main and Paine; Nov. 21, Baker Memorial Methodist; Nov. 29, Baker Memorial; Dec. 2, Baker Memorial (dress rehearsal/performance).  Auditions for "All Through The Night," by L. Don Swartz, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 9 and 10, at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St. in North Tonawanda. Candidates will be asked to give a cold reading in a group setting. Play dates are Nov. 30-Dec. 17. Cast requirements: Five men, four women, three boys and four girls. "Al l Through The Night" tells the story of a group of weary travelers trapped in a rural train station by a blizzard on Christmas Eve.

 Genesee County Village & Museum will hold open auditions for their annual holiday production, "Yuletide in the Country: A Centennial Holiday." Auditions will take place from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the museum, 1410 Flint Road, Mumford.  The Friends of Harmony will hold an open house rehearsal from 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 181 Lincoln St., Depew, near Transit Road and Walden Avenue. The chorus is seeking male singers for four-part barbershop harmony. There will be free music, snacks and entertainment.

 MusicalFare Theatre's production of "Sisters of Swing: The Andrews Sisters Musical" has been extended through Sunday, Oct. 22. Added performances include 7 p.m. Oct. 18, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19, 8 p.m. Oct. 20, 4 and 8 p.m. Oct. 21, and 2 p.m. Oct. 22. For tickets, call 839-8540.

 The Lancaster Opera House was named Employer of the Year by the New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council for the support and assistance the Opera House gives to New Yorkers with developmental disabilities. The LOH was nominated by Lucinda Hillman of the Lancaster High School Work Study Program for providing employment opportunities in an integrated setting to individuals with developmental disabilities.
