Males reportedly set fire to construction cones

(Editors note: The Bee's police blotter is a sampling of unusual, sometimes humorous calls received by the police department. It is not intended to be a complete record of all incidents reported.)

Saturday, Sept. 23

+ A woman called police from Tonawanda Creek Road because she had a headache from yelling.

 On Travers Boulevard, a resident complained that children were damaging the house and cars by throwing apples at them. No damage was reported by police.

 Police were called by a Silver Thorne Drive resident whose cat had its front paw caught under the stove. The call was cancelled when the cat was freed.

 Criminal mischief was reported on Millersport Highway when a resident complained that someone had sprayed her front door with "something sticky." Police determined there was no damage, and the substance appeared to be soda thrown at the door.

Sunday, Sept. 24

 A suspicious person was reported by a Pheasant Run Road resident who stated that a male in a small, black car had an alarm clock that kept going off. The male would exit the car, go into a house and return. Police determined that he was a friend of a neighbor.

 Police advised a person on Main Street who was shooting with a bow off a patio into a vacant lot.

 A Miller Road resident was concerned that his neighbor was trying to poison his dog.

 Two males were reportedly setting fire to construction cones on Willow Ridge Drive. Police found no males or fires.

Monday, Sept. 25

 A Charlesgate Circle resident reported that the glass top of a patio table was damaged, and the damage didn't appear to be weather- related.

 A suspicious male in pajama bottoms and a sweatshirt was reportedly cutting down trees with some type of pole saw at the Country Club Manor complex.

 When a woman attempted to pick up her vehicle from a towing company on Sheridan Drive she was told the keys were lost and the car wasn't there. She filed a report with police.

 On Dodge Road, a resident complained that a raccoon came after the complainant, and the raccoon was now wandering the yard.

 Criminal mischief was reported on North French Road when white paint was found on two government vehicles.

Tuesday, Sept. 26

 A Dalewood Drive resident was approached by two males who asked her to give them an air freshener from her car.

 Workers replacing carpeting at an apartment complex on Emerson Drive reported that a female came up, grabbed a tool box and drove off in a pickup truck. The tools were valued at more than $1,000.

 A Sagewood Terrace resident reported that a rabbit was stuck in the fence.

 On Miller Road, a resident complained about semi-trucks driving on the road because there was a concern for the children in the area. No excessive speed was determined.

Wednesday, Sept. 27

 A complaint came from North Forest Road that a suspect had been shooting cats with a pellet gun.

 Police responded to Crystal Springs Lane following a report

that a baby was unattended in a driveway. When police arrived they found the child and heard screaming from the house in question.

 A New Road resident called police because a neighbor was digging up dirt along a newly installed fence. Both parties were advised.

 A truck was causing road obstruction on Honey Bee Lane, and a school bus was unable to drop off students. When a neighbor asked the owner of the truck to move it he was reportedly drunk on his porch and refused.

Thursday, Sept. 28

 Larceny was reported from a Sheridan Drive store. Employees said the sensors went off, but they didn't know what was taken.

 A $30,000 ring was reported stolen by a town resident.

 An injured deer was reportedly caught in barbwire on Creekside Drive.

 A South Cayuga Road resident complained that the electricity kept going on and off. Police reported there was no problem.
