Georgette Weast, first woman tax auditor in New York State

Georgette Weast, 80, a retired employee with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, in her home at Amberleigh in Williamsville.
Born Georgette Menin in St. Pierre, Belgium, she moved
to the United States in 1947 after World War II. She had lived in the Buffalo surrounding area until her passing.
Mrs. Weast retired in January 1983 after 24 years with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. She is the first women senior tax auditor in New York State.
Mrs. Weast is survived by two daughters, Lilian D. Pianowski and Nicole S. Kastelanic; and two grandchildren.
A memorial was held Thursday, Sept. 21 at Amigone Funeral Home.
